Drawing inspiration from Taiwanese director Edward Yang's representation of worldly dynamics, this animated project seeks to interrogate the performative aspects of interpersonal relationships, examining the artifice of charm and the pursuit of external validation through a series of 2D animated loops.
By adopting Yang's observational stance that hardly dwells on character’s subjective experience, the animation attempts to metaphorically encapsulate, from a distance, the dissonance between one’s aspirations to socialise and the responses one might receive.
